5th Sept meeting to publicise 20th Sept Climate Strike

Public meeting in Oxford Town Hall on Thursday 5th September 7pm.

This meeting will help publicise the trade union Climate Strike on 20th September and encourage people to take some kind of action in their various workplaces. The meeting has been called by Oxford Extinction Rebellion Trade Union Group, Oxford Extinction Rebellion, Oxfordshire UNISON Health and DWP Oxon & Bucks PCS union.

Confirmed speakers so far include:

• George Monbiot, writer and environmental and political activist
• Ian Hodson, National President of the Bakers Food and Allied Workers Union (BFAWU)
• Suzanne Jeffery, Campaign Against Climate Change and one of the authors of the recent book “System Change Not Climate Change”
• Keith Hamilton CWU South Central postal
• Zuhura Plummer from Oxford Extinction Rebellion
• E J Fawcett, Student Climate Striker, Oxford UKSCN

The meeting will be opened by Oxford’s Mayor Craig Simmons.

You don’t need a ticket for this event, but it is first come first served, so please come early.
