Active Hope Reading Group
5th February 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Do you worry about the state of our world but don’t know what to do about it?
Would you like to ignite your inner-strength and purpose to face these challenges and play your unique role in the coming times?
For many of us, knowing the facts about the Climate Crisis is not enough to enable us to act. We often find ourselves frozen – alternating between despair and denial – or crippled by guilt.
In order to be able to act powerfully in the face of this emergency, we need to find a way to be with our feelings around it. We can value those feelings as a true sign of interconnectedness and deep care, and those very feelings can guide us to discover our unique part to play in the change that is coming.
Active Hope is an empowering process – a journey that we will make, together, in this reading group. In each session, we will reflect together on a chunk of the book (“Active Hope” by Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone) and have opportunities to put some of the ideas into practice with experiential exercises.
If you would like to know more about the book, please visit: https://www.activehope.info/
The reading group does not cost anything to attend, but you will need to get your own copy of the book. Donations are welcome for the venue, but not required.
The venue is accessible.
A commitment is needed – to attend all 6 sessions (as far as possible). Please do not start this process, if you do not think that you will be able to make all the sessions.
The group will meet on alternate Wednesdays, from 6.30pm until 9pm. The meetings will be on the following dates:
If you are interested in Active Hope, but these timings don’t work for you, please register your interest below (by selecting one of the “Interested in Active Hope” tickets). I will then do my best to inform you if other groups or workshops are organised in this area.
