Climate Conversations: talking with friends, family and passers-by about the climate crisis
9th March 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
This workshop is for anyone worried about climate change who wants to build their confidence having difficult conversations about climate change with friends, family and passers-by. We will be working with some tools that derive from psychotherapy that will help you to have those tricky conversations about climate change by understanding more of what goes on beneath the surface.
This workshop isn’t about how to communicate the facts, how to give a talk or how to deal with a very aggressive member of the public – though you may find that it gives you the confidence to go into situations of that kind. By the end of the workshop you will feel more confident about having climate conversations, and you will have planned and maybe even scripted one that is relevant to your own situation.
The workshop is based on materials created by Rosemary Randall, long-standing expert on climate psychology, and by Climate Outreach. It will be led by a team of XR trainers who have developed the workshop together.
