Conversation about diversity and inclusion in XR

May 21 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Are you interested in what’s happening to the climate?
Are you wondering how your class, race, religion, education, gender etc. affects the extent to which you feel that Extinction Rebellion is inclusive?
Are you keen to understand or share your experience of what the barriers are for getting involved in XR and why we need to overcome these so we can bring about a sustainable future for all?
If so, here’s an invitation to join together to talk about identity and belonging as it relates to our activism and share personal views and experiences.

This gathering is open both to those involved in Extinction Rebellion already, and to people who are not part of it but share concerns around climate change. We’ll make time to share views and concerns about how inequalities, histories, and power are affecting the movement, and to share our hopes and aspirations for the future of the movement. We hope that from this deeper conversation, some ideas will emerge around how to move forward.

Please note, this is a repeat of the face to face event the EDI group ran in March. This event will take place online. The session is predominantly focused on personal reflections and experiences (through co-listening spaces) and an open space to explore wider questions about XR as a whole.

This event is free. Places are limited so that the session can be more participatory and engaging, and allow space for personal experience to be shared. More events will follow. If you decide not to attend, please remember to release your ticket to allow someone else to .
