End Fossil Fuels actions: outreach and mothers’ rebellion

16th September 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

On September 15 to 17, millions of people around the world will take to the streets to demand a rapid, just, and equitable end to fossil fuels (https://fightfossilfuels.net/). For those who can’t join the London action, we are planning, on 16th September in Oxford, three coordinated events:

Outreach in Cornmarket, 1-3pm, talking to the public, and giving them posters they can display at home (these: https://www.nonewoil.com/). I f you can help with the outreach, please sign up to the rota here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1X5mrYiJj95_bTe0rVZsIfnCtbeidmfjrVIn3-UuoKXI/edit#gid=0 – or just turn up on the day.

Alongside this, a families action, sitting in a circle with placards, as part of the global Mothers Rebellion https://www.mothersrebellion.com/ (Cornmarket, 2-3pm).

After this, people are warmly invited to go on to the screening of ‘Walking on Thin Ice’ at the Phoenix Picturehouse at 3.30pm (https://www.picturehouses.com/movie-details/014/HO00013339/green-screen-of-walking-on-thin-ice-panel), which will be followed by a panel discussion, and a walk in Port Meadow. Please join us for any or all of these events, and amplify the message: Fossil fuel exploitation must end now.
