Green Alternatives Workshop at Oxford Brookes

25th October 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Green Alternatives Workshop
Tuesday’s workshop will reflect on the potential of alternative socio-economic systems (i.e. UBI, co-ops etc) in light of the climate crisis. The event will start with a short (15 min) discussion led by Tom Sinclair, an Oxford XR campaigner who is also a Professor of Philosophy at Oxford. There will then be free-flowing relaxed group discussion on these themes with breaks every 45 minutes. Cross-cutting themes in this discussion will be the merits of a zero-growth v GND approach to low-carbon transition.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided. The event runs from 1300 until 1700 in JHB303 in the John Henry Brookes Building. We will then head to The White Hart in Headington for drinks and dinner.

On arrival at Oxford Brookes, please wait at the main reception, JHB building, where someone will meet you. If you arrive later than 1300, please ask for directions to the room from the reception desk.

The event is part of a series at Oxford Brookes on Alternatives to Capitalism which is co-run by Andy Kilmister, Maria Daskalaki, Robin Jervis, and Neal Harris. This workshop is the fourth in the series, previous events have focused on co-operatives, UBI, and mutual aid.
