Thames Valley Cycle to the Rebellion
October 5 @ 10:30 am - October 6 @ 6:30 pm
Calling all Rebel CYCLE CAMPERS!
Let’s cycle together to the London Rebellion this October, I propose setting off from Oxford at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday 5th October. We could cycle as a group, at an unhurried pace, aiming to camp together somewhere near or past Eton or Windsor…. Early on Sunday morning, we would set off cycling on into central London, arriving to set up camp by the evening.
I have bought a range of Ordnance Survey, Sustrans and Thames path maps and I am volunteering as a facilitator. Previously, to travel from Oxford to London for the Extinction Rebellion summer “Mushroom” uprising took me just over 2 days (carrying generous camping gear, supplies and baggage). After a week of actions and wonderful regeneration in London, I cycled back, energized, in one 14 hour epic ride. Now, with better maps, a refined route, avoiding most of the steep hills, we should get to Central London in two, more comfortable, 8 or 9 hour days.
I will be hosting a bike ride planning meeting on Saturday 21st September at my mooring, on the Redbridge horses Fields, at the end of the Abingdon Road. Please come after 6:30 p.m. to start a circle at 7 p.m. To find out more please email firstname.lastname@example.org , thanks.
