We offer a wide range of trainings to help people get skilled. See the events page for all training sessions around Oxford.
There is training on-site at all the big actions.
NVDA (Non-Violent Direct Action)
NVDA training is a good idea if you want to take part in civil disobedience, for example blocking roads, even if you don’t intend to get arrested. You will learn about the idea behind non-violent direct action, and how to do it safely and effectively.
If you have not received the training, you can still come and support actions as a member of the public.
Nonviolence works because it inspires, builds trust and opens doors for large numbers of people to get involved and express themselves.
Learn what nonviolence means to us, why it’s effective, and how to use practical tools for de-escalation.
Anyone considering taking part in an action should consider the possible legal repercussions in their, especially if considering being arrestable.
Come to a legal briefing for an introduction to the issues.
